Job Description
Our digital analytics team is a rapidly expanding part of our business and one of the most established and highly respected in the UK. We work with a wide range of clients from any area you can imagine. On any given day, you can work with a global ecommerce brand in the morning and local services consulting in the afternoon.
As a part of Merkle EMEA we are a Google Marketing Platform Sales Partners and hold five different Adobe Solutions specializations. We intend to appoint a consultant to lead the analytics implementation and delivery of optimization solutions. The analytics consultant will primarily work with Google Analytics (360), but will also have Adobe Analytics opportunities. Depending on their skills and interests, they can also work with conversion rate optimization tools such as Optimizely, Google Optimize and Adobe Targets. The successful candidate will instantly be an important and important part of our Analytics team.
The advisor will support our clients throughout our digital analytics journey. It begins with discovery (assessing client requirements and crafting measurement solutions), then moves through implementation (using a range of platforms such as Google Tag Manager, Teelium, and Adobe Launch), configuration, and customization. This means that on a normal day there will be a good balance of coding, writing, conversation, teaching, data and learning new stuff.
Life as an analytics consultant at Merkle
This is a fast-paced role that will never leave you around turning your thumb! The day-to-day activities will cover the full spectrum of technical web analytics work and will include a robust measurement of client / project management:
Working with clients to define their measurement strategies,
strategies for tracking and reporting configuration
to work with the client developers to deploy robust data layers change
apply tagging solutions to meet the tracking requirements
to Developing scripts and plugins to solve ad hoc tracking issues
, improve internal techniques, processes. And in addition to quality assurance
day-to-day account management and written and face to face contact with customers

Provide customers with actionable insights through the analysis of your data leads or support website and app testing through A / B, multivariate or personalization methods
. Drive data maturity for some of the world’s biggest brands.
Work with different APIs, reporting and visualization.

The Analytics team is closely involved with Google and Adobe and has regular beta testers who are accessing new features. We also offer a comprehensive training program leading to certifications across our core platforms.
Qualification will
primarily involve using Google Analytics (360) in this role, so we estimate that the successful candidate will have 12–18 months of experience on the platform, with particular focus on tracking and reporting configurations. Ideally, this would involve implementing Google Analytics using multiple tag management solutions.
To support this knowledge, a background in the following would be expected:
Basics of tracking and tagging for marketing and measurement
Variety of tag management system experience (or very strong knowledge of one / two)
JavaScript, common libraries (eg jQuery)
HTML and CSS, including
a wide range of products within the Google marketing platform Will have strong understanding. It is also desirable to have a good one with experience working with BigQuery and data visualization platforms. Knowledge of the Adobe Experience Cloud suite of products (either implemented or class), specifically analytics, launch or target, would be a bonus.
Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple customer stakeholders with changing seniority and technical knowledge is absolutely critical as a successful candidate for this role needs to be able to lead customer engagements with minimal supervision.
